Sometimes a contract needs to change after it’s already been signed — a venue swap, an updated set time, or a revised fee arrangement. Rather than voiding the original contract and starting over, BookLive lets you attach a formal addendum: a written amendment that both you and your client sign to make the change official.
Before You Begin #
- A contract must already exist on the performance before you can add an addendum.
- You must be a group leader or co-leader to create addendums.
- Make sure the performance has a client on record if you want to send the addendum for the client’s signature.
Step 1: Open the Contract Tab #
- Log in at https://booklive.com/login.
- Open the performance that needs the contract change.
- Click the Contract tab on the performance detail page.
Step 2: Add an Addendum #
- On the contract card, click the Addendum button (the document icon labeled Addendum near the top of the card). This opens the Add Addendum dialog.
- In the Addendum Text field, type the full text of the change you’re documenting. Be specific — describe exactly what is being modified, replaced, or added to the original contract.
- In the Your Signature field, type your full name. This is your legal signature on the addendum.
Step 3: Choose Whether to Send to the Client #
If the performance has a client on record, you’ll see their name and email address displayed below the signature field, along with a checkbox labeled Send to client for signature. This option is turned on by default.
- Leave the checkbox on — BookLive will email the addendum to your client immediately after you click Sign & Send. The client must sign for the addendum to be valid.
- Uncheck the checkbox — The addendum is saved to the contract record for your own documentation without being emailed. You can share or communicate the change through other means.
If no client is assigned to the performance, a warning will appear and the send option will be unavailable. You can still create the addendum as an internal record.
Step 4: Sign and Send #
Click Sign & Send. BookLive records your signature and, if the send option was checked, emails the addendum to your client right away.
What the Client Receives #
Your client gets an email with the subject line [Signature Required] Addendum to Performance Contract for [Your Group Name], sent from your performance inbox address. The email includes the addendum text and a View and Accept Addendum button. When the client clicks the link, they’re taken to a secure page where they can read the addendum, type their full name as a signature, and click Sign.
Once the client signs, BookLive sends you a notification email letting you know the addendum has been accepted.
Viewing Addendums on the Contract #
All addendums attached to a contract are listed in an Addendums section below the main contract card. Each addendum shows:
- A sequential label — Addendum 1, Addendum 2, and so on.
- A status pill — Signed (green) when the client has signed, or Pending (gray) when their signature is still outstanding.
Click any addendum row to expand it and see the full addendum text, your signature and the date you signed, and the client’s signature and the date they signed (if applicable).
Tips & Notes #
- You can add more than one addendum to the same contract — each one gets its own number and tracks signatures independently.
- An addendum does not modify or replace the original contract document; it stands alongside it as a formal supplement.
- There is no edit or delete option for addendums once created, so review the text carefully before clicking Sign & Send.
- If your client hasn’t signed after a day or two, follow up directly — BookLive doesn’t send automatic signature reminders for addendums.
