This guide walks you through creating a profile that showcases your group is best qualities.
Why Profile Completion Matters #
BookLive tracks your profile completion percentage. Here is why it matters:
- Visibility: Groups need at least 5% completion to appear in public directories
- Credibility: Complete profiles build trust with potential clients
- SEO: More content means better search engine visibility
- Conversions: Clients book groups with detailed profiles more often
Profile Completion Breakdown #
Your completion percentage is calculated as follows:
- Base: 5% just for creating a group
- Cover Photo: +15%
- Bio: +20%
- Group Types: +20%
- Event Types: +20%
- Videos: +20%
To reach 100%, complete all sections!
Required Information #
At minimum, your profile needs:
Group Name #
- Your official group or band name
- Must be unique (you cannot create duplicates)
- Changing the name later will update your public URL
Location (City and State) #
- Where your group is based
- Used for location-based searches
- Helps clients find local performers
Optional But Recommended #
Bio #
Write a compelling description of your group:
- Who you are and your musical style
- What makes you unique
- Types of events you specialize in
- Any notable performances or achievements

Editing Your Profile #
- Navigate to your group dashboard
- Click Settings in the left sidebar
- Click Edit Profile or the Edit tab
- Update any fields you want to change
- Click Save to apply changes
Changing Your Group Name #
If you need to rename your group:
- Go to group settings
- Click on the group name field
- Enter the new name
- Save your changes
Important: Changing your name will update your public URL (booklive.com/groups/your-new-name). Old links may stop working.
Your Public Profile URL #
Every group gets a public profile URL:
- Format:
booklive.com/groups/your-group-name - Generated automatically from your group name
- Share this link with potential clients
- Add it to your business cards and social media
Tips for a Great Profile #
- Use a professional group name – Avoid nicknames or inside jokes
- Write in third person – “The Jazz Quartet performs…” not “We perform…”
- Highlight your niche – What makes you different from competitors?
