Customizing Your Dashboard View

Overview #

BookLive is Group Home Dashboard offers several customization options to tailor the view to your preferences. From filtering which events appear to choosing your default statistics view, you can configure the dashboard to show exactly what matters most to you.

Available Customization Options #

1. Gig Toggle Selection #

Choose your default perspective:

• Gigs I am Playing – Focus on performances where you perform
• Gigs I Manage – Focus on performances you book and coordinate

Your selection is saved and will persist when you return to the dashboard.

2. Event Visibility Filters #

Control which event types appear on your calendar:

• Show Partnership Tasks – Toggle purple partnership events on/off
• Show Client Tasks – Toggle orange client tasks on/off
• Show [Group Name] Events Only – Filter to current group (when in group view)

3. Chart Period Selection #

Choose the time range for your statistics chart:

• Last 6 months – Recent half-year trend
• Last 3 months – More focused recent view
• This year – Full year-to-date comparison

4. Chart Metric Selection #

Choose what the chart displays:

• Bookings – Number of performances per period
• Earnings – Revenue generated per period

Accessing Event Filters #

1. Look for the Event Filters button or filter icon above the calendar
2. Click to open the filter panel
3. Toggle each option on or off
4. Changes apply immediately
5. Close the panel when done

Saving Your Preferences #

BookLive automatically saves your customization preferences:

Saved in Your Browser #

• Gig toggle selection (Playing vs Managing)
• Partnership task visibility
• Client task visibility
• Group filtering preference

How Saving Works #

• Preferences are stored in your browser is local storage
• They persist across sessions and page refreshes
• Each browser/device maintains separate preferences
• Clearing browser data will reset preferences to defaults

Recommended Configurations #

For Busy Bandleaders #

• Toggle: Gigs I Manage
• Show Partnership Tasks: ON (stay on top of follow-ups)
• Show Client Tasks: ON (track client communications)
• Chart Period: This year (big-picture view)

For Freelance Musicians #

• Toggle: Gigs I am Playing
• Show Partnership Tasks: OFF (unless actively building partnerships)
• Show Client Tasks: OFF (focus on performance schedule)
• Chart Period: Last 3 months (immediate workload)

For Multi-Group Managers #

• Toggle: Gigs I Manage
• Group Filter: ON when working on one group
• Group Filter: OFF when planning across groups
• All task types: ON

Resetting to Defaults #

To reset your dashboard to default settings:

1. Clear your browser is local storage for the BookLive site
2. Or open the dashboard in an incognito/private window
3. All filters will return to their default state

Tips for Dashboard Organization #

• Less is more – Turn off event types you do not actively use
• Check filters first – If events seem missing, check your filter settings
• Use group filtering wisely – Great for focused work, but remember to turn off for full visibility
• Review chart period monthly – Adjust based on what insights you need
