BookLive’s Facebook Groups feature gives you a curated, searchable directory of Facebook communities for musicians — so you can discover groups in your market, save the ones you want to post in regularly, and track which ones you’ve visited recently. It’s a simple way to stay consistent with your social outreach without losing track of where you’ve been.
Accessing Facebook Groups #
- Log in to BookLive at https://booklive.com/login.
- Open your group from the dashboard.
- In the left sidebar, click Marketing.
- Select Facebook Groups from the Marketing submenu.
The page has two main sections: My Facebook Groups (your saved list) and Discover Groups (BookLive’s curated catalog).
Discovering Groups Near You #
Use the Search Facebook Groups card to browse BookLive’s catalog of musician Facebook communities by location.
- Select a State from the dropdown.
- Enter a City to narrow the search.
- Use the Distance slider to set a search radius (5–50 miles).
- Click Search.
Matching groups appear in the Discover Groups card below. Each result shows the group’s name, location, and distance from your group’s address, along with the member count and any posting rules the group has on file.
Saving a Group #
When you find a group you want to engage with regularly, click Save to My Groups on its card. The group moves to your My Facebook Groups list at the top of the page, where you can manage it over time.
Managing Your Saved Groups #
Your saved groups are sorted to prioritize the ones you haven’t visited recently — groups you’ve never opened appear first (marked Never visited in orange), followed by the ones you visited longest ago. This makes it easy to rotate through your list systematically.
Each saved group card shows:
- Name and location — the group’s name and city/state
- Member count — if available
- Last viewed — how long ago you last opened the group, or “Never visited” if you haven’t opened it yet
- Posting Rules — a preview of the group’s rules (click Read More to see the full text)
- Your Notes — any private notes you’ve added to this group
Opening a Group #
Click View on a saved group card to open the Facebook group in a new tab. BookLive automatically records your visit and updates the Last viewed timestamp, then re-sorts your list so the group moves to the bottom of the rotation.
Adding Notes #
Click the pencil icon on any saved group card to open the notes editor. Use this to jot down anything useful — posting schedules, the type of content that gets engagement, or reminders about the group’s rules. Notes are private and only visible to you. Click Save when done.
Removing a Group #
Click the trash icon on a saved group card and confirm to remove it from your list. This doesn’t affect the group in BookLive’s catalog — you can add it again later from Discover Groups.
No Groups Found in Your Area? #
If your search returns no results, BookLive will offer the option to Submit a Dream Team Request. The Dream Team will research and add Facebook groups for musicians in your city and state. Make sure you have a city and state entered before submitting. Check back within a few business days.
Tips & Notes #
- Aim to visit each saved group regularly — the sort order keeps the groups you haven’t engaged with recently at the top so nothing slips through the cracks.
- Use notes to track the best days and times to post in each group, or log what content performed well.
- Always read a group’s Posting Rules before posting — many musician groups have specific guidelines about promotional content.
- Your group’s address (set in your group settings) determines the distance displayed next to each result.
