Adding a venue to a gig on BookLive helps auto-populate the contract with the venue address and keeps you organized. This ensures that all necessary details are communicated to your musicians, both during the gig request and when they review the gig details prior to the performance.

Before you start, ensure you have the following:

  • A BookLive account.
  • A performance already set up in BookLive.

Step-by-Step Guide: #

1. Log into Your BookLive Dashboard #

  • Open your web browser and go to BookLive Login.
  • Enter your email and password.
  • Click the “Log In” button to access your dashboard.

2. Navigate to the Performance Dashboard #

  • Ensure you have a performance already set up.
  • Locate the performance for which you want to add a venue. For this example, we have a fake gig happening on September 28.
  • Click on the performance to open the performance dashboard.

3. Add a Venue #

  • Find the “Add Venue” button underneath the date of the gig.
  • Click the “Add Venue” button. A pop-up will appear where you can search for the venue.

4. Search for the Venue #

  • Option 1: Using Google Maps
    • In the venue box, start typing the name of the venue. This search pulls from Google Maps.
    • For example, type “Carnegie Hall.” The dropdown menu will auto-complete options from Google Maps.
    • Click on the correct venue from the dropdown options to auto-fill the address. Note: You must click on an option for the address to save.
  • Option 2: Adding a New Venue Manually
    • If the venue is not listed (e.g., a private residence), click the blue “Add New Venue” button underneath the auto-complete box.
    • Enter the venue details:
      • Name of Venue: For example, “Private Residence.”
      • Address: For example, “123 Fake Street.”
      • City: For example, “Denver.”
      • State: For example, “Colorado.”
      • Zip Code: For example, “12345.”
    • Click “Save” to add the new venue to the database and store the address.

5. Review and Utilize the Venue Information #

  • Once the venue is set, you can click on the name of the venue to:
    • Open it in Google Maps.
    • Open its profile in BookLive.
    • Add it to your gig vault to initiate a partnership and get on the venue’s preferred vendor list.
