Adding new pages to your website helps keep your content fresh and relevant, engaging visitors with updated information and new offerings. Using Elementor simplifies this process, giving you flexibility and control over your page design.

Prerequisites: #

Before you start, ensure you have the following:

  • A WordPress account. If you don’t have one, please reach out to us at info@booklive.com, and we’ll provide you with a free account as part of your BookLive subscription.
  • Logged into your WordPress account.

Step-by-Step Guide: #

1. Log into Your WordPress Dashboard #

  • Open your web browser and go to your site’s URL.
  • Add /wp-admin to the end of the URL.
  • Enter your username and password.
  • Click the “Log In” button to access your WordPress dashboard.

2. Create a New Page #

  • There are two ways to create a new page:
    • Shortcut Method: Click the “New” button at the top of the dashboard and select “Page.”
    • Navigation Method: Navigate to the “Pages” tab on the left-hand side menu and click “Add New.”
  • Both methods will direct you to the default WordPress editor.

3. Set the Page Title #

  • In the WordPress editor, the title box will be automatically selected.
  • Enter the title of your new page. For this example, we’ll use “Wedding Cocktail Hour Entertainment.”

4. Edit with Elementor #

  • After setting the title, click the “Edit with Elementor” button.
  • Wait for the Elementor editor to load, which may take 30 seconds to a minute.
  • You will now have a blank canvas to build your page content. Existing headers and footers will automatically appear.

5. Add Content Using Elementor #

  • Add a Container:
    • Start by adding a container to structure your page.
    • Click the grid of dots icon to add elements to the container.
  • Add a Header:
    • Select the header module and drag it into the container.
    • Edit the header text to “Wedding Ceremony Entertainment.”
  • Add a Video:
    • Click the grid of modules again, select the video module, and drag it into the page.
    • Insert your YouTube link to embed a video.

6. Using Templates #

  • Import a Template:
    • If you prefer using a pre-made template, click the file icon where it says “Drag widget here.”
    • This opens the template library with pre-made sections and page templates.
    • Choose a template (e.g., “Wireframe Home 1”) and click to import it.
    • Note: Importing a template will override existing content, so use caution if you’ve already made changes.
  • Customize the Template:
    • Replace the placeholder text and images with your own content.
    • For example, change the text to “Wedding Ceremony Entertainment” and update images and videos accordingly.

7. Save and Publish #

  • Once you’ve added and customized your content, click the “Publish” button to make the page live on your website.

8. Alternative Method: Cloning an Existing Page #

  • If you prefer to clone an existing page, install the “Yoast Duplicate Post” plugin.
  • Go to the “Pages” tab, hover over the page you want to clone, and click the “Clone” option (available after installing the plugin).
  • Edit the cloned page as needed using the steps above.
