Step-by-Step Guide: #
1. Log into Your WordPress Dashboard #
- Open your web browser and go to your site’s URL.
- Add
/wp-admin
to the end of the URL. - Enter your username and password.
- Click the “Log In” button to access your WordPress dashboard.
2. Create a New Blog Post #
- There are two ways to create a new blog post:
- Shortcut Method: Hover over the “New” menu at the top and click “Post.”
- Navigation Method: On the left-hand navigation, hover over the “Posts” menu and click “All Posts.” Then, click the “Add New” button.
- Both methods will bring you to the WordPress editor for your blog post.
3. Set the Post Title and Categories #
- Enter the title of your blog post in the title box. For example, “Partner Spotlight: Villa Parker Event Venue.”
- On the right-hand menu, scroll down to find the “Categories” section.
- Click “Add New Category” and name it appropriately (e.g., “Partner Spotlights”).
- Click “Add New Category” to save it and automatically check it.
4. Set a Featured Image #
- In the right-hand menu, find the “Featured Image” section.
- Click “Set Featured Image.”
- Choose an image from your media library or upload a new one.
- Click “Set Featured Image” in the bottom right corner to save it.
5. Edit with Elementor #
- Click “Edit with Elementor.”
- Click “Leave Site” if prompted; your changes are saved.
- Wait for the Elementor editor to load, which may take 30 seconds to a minute.
6. Add Content Using Elementor #
- Add a Container:
- Click “Add New Section” and select a structure (e.g., a single column).
- Add Text:
- Click the grid icon to open the Elementor widget panel.
- Drag the “Text Editor” widget into the container.
- Enter your blog post content either directly in the text editor or in the left-hand panel.
- Add Images:
- Drag the “Image” widget below the text editor.
- Choose an image from your media library or upload a new one.
7. Publish Your Blog Post #
- After adding and customizing your content, click the pink “Publish” button to make the post live.
8. Edit an Existing Blog Post #
- To edit an existing post, go back to the WordPress dashboard.
- Hover over “Posts” and click “All Posts.”
- Find the post you want to edit (e.g., “Partner Spotlight: Villa Parker Event Venue”).
- Click on the post title to open the standard WordPress editor for title, categories, and featured image edits.
- Click “Edit with Elementor” to make content changes in the Elementor editor.
- Make your changes and click the “Update” button to save them.
