Managing Partnership Tasks and Follow-ups

Tasks help you stay on top of partnership follow-ups and action items. You can create one-off tasks manually or let Sales Cadences generate them automatically.

Viewing Partnership Tasks #

To see tasks for a partnership:

  1. Open the partnership detail view
  2. Click the Tasks tab
  3. View pending, completed, and overdue tasks

You can also view all tasks across partnerships from your dashboard.

Creating Manual Tasks #

To add a one-off task:

  1. Go to the partnership’s Tasks tab
  2. Click Add Task
  3. Enter a description of what needs to be done
  4. Set a due date
  5. Save the task

Cadence-Generated Tasks #

When a partnership is in a Sales Cadence, tasks are created automatically based on the cadence steps. These tasks:

  • Appear with due dates based on the cadence schedule
  • Include the action type (email, call, or custom task)
  • Link to any associated email templates
  • Advance the cadence when completed

Completing Tasks #

To mark a task complete:

  1. Find the task in your list
  2. Click the checkbox or Complete button
  3. The task moves to completed status
  4. For cadence tasks, the next step becomes active

Overdue Tasks #

Tasks past their due date are highlighted as overdue. To manage overdue tasks:

  • Review why the task wasn’t completed
  • Complete it if still relevant
  • Update the due date if more time is needed
  • Delete if no longer applicable

Task Types #

Email Tasks #

These prompt you to send an email. When you complete them:

  • Open the associated email template
  • Customize if needed
  • Send to the partnership contact
  • Mark complete

Call Tasks #

These remind you to make a phone call:

  • Review the partnership details before calling
  • Make the call
  • Add notes about the conversation
  • Mark complete

Custom Tasks #

General tasks for any other action:

  • Research the venue
  • Prepare a proposal
  • Schedule a meeting
  • Any other follow-up action

Editing and Deleting Tasks #

To edit a task:

  • Click on the task
  • Update the description or due date
  • Save changes

To delete a task:

  • Click the delete/trash icon
  • Confirm deletion

Note: Deleting cadence tasks may affect your progress through the sales sequence.

Best Practices #

  • Check tasks daily – Stay on top of follow-ups
  • Don’t let tasks pile up – Complete or reschedule promptly
  • Add notes after completing – Document outcomes for future reference
  • Use cadences for consistency – Automated tasks ensure nothing falls through the cracks
