Tasks help you stay on top of partnership follow-ups and action items. You can create one-off tasks manually or let Sales Cadences generate them automatically.
Viewing Partnership Tasks #
To see tasks for a partnership:
- Open the partnership detail view
- Click the Tasks tab
- View pending, completed, and overdue tasks
You can also view all tasks across partnerships from your dashboard.
Creating Manual Tasks #
To add a one-off task:
- Go to the partnership’s Tasks tab
- Click Add Task
- Enter a description of what needs to be done
- Set a due date
- Save the task
Cadence-Generated Tasks #
When a partnership is in a Sales Cadence, tasks are created automatically based on the cadence steps. These tasks:
- Appear with due dates based on the cadence schedule
- Include the action type (email, call, or custom task)
- Link to any associated email templates
- Advance the cadence when completed
Completing Tasks #
To mark a task complete:
- Find the task in your list
- Click the checkbox or Complete button
- The task moves to completed status
- For cadence tasks, the next step becomes active
Overdue Tasks #
Tasks past their due date are highlighted as overdue. To manage overdue tasks:
- Review why the task wasn’t completed
- Complete it if still relevant
- Update the due date if more time is needed
- Delete if no longer applicable
Task Types #
Email Tasks #
These prompt you to send an email. When you complete them:
- Open the associated email template
- Customize if needed
- Send to the partnership contact
- Mark complete
Call Tasks #
These remind you to make a phone call:
- Review the partnership details before calling
- Make the call
- Add notes about the conversation
- Mark complete
Custom Tasks #
General tasks for any other action:
- Research the venue
- Prepare a proposal
- Schedule a meeting
- Any other follow-up action
Editing and Deleting Tasks #
To edit a task:
- Click on the task
- Update the description or due date
- Save changes
To delete a task:
- Click the delete/trash icon
- Confirm deletion
Note: Deleting cadence tasks may affect your progress through the sales sequence.
Best Practices #
- Check tasks daily – Stay on top of follow-ups
- Don’t let tasks pile up – Complete or reschedule promptly
- Add notes after completing – Document outcomes for future reference
- Use cadences for consistency – Automated tasks ensure nothing falls through the cracks
