Reviews and ratings are powerful trust signals that help convert profile visitors into bookings. BookLive makes it easy to collect, manage, and display client reviews. This guide covers how reviews work and how to make the most of them.

How Reviews Work #

Review Collection #

  • Reviews are linked to specific performances
  • Clients are invited to leave reviews after events
  • Reviews include a rating (star system) and optional comments

Automatic Collection #

  • Auto-collect setting: Enabled by default
  • Clients automatically receive review requests after performances
  • You can toggle this on/off in settings

Permission to Publish #

  • Clients choose whether their review can be published
  • Only reviews with permission appear on your public profile
  • This protects client privacy

Viewing Your Reviews #

  1. Go to your group dashboard
  2. Click Reviews in the sidebar
  3. View all reviews, both public and private
  4. Filter by date, rating, or publication status

Public vs Private Reviews #

Public Reviews #

  • Client granted permission to publish
  • Appear on your public profile
  • Contribute to your average rating
  • Visible to all profile visitors

Private Reviews #

  • Client chose not to publish
  • Only visible to you
  • Still useful for internal feedback
  • Do not appear on public profile

Your Average Rating #

Your displayed rating is calculated from:

  • All public reviews only
  • Simple average of all star ratings
  • Displayed as stars (typically 5-star scale)
  • Review count shown alongside rating

Reviews and SEO #

Reviews improve your search visibility:

  • Average rating included in Schema.org markup
  • Google may show star ratings in search results
  • Higher ratings can improve click-through rates

Toggling Review Display #

To show or hide reviews on your profile:

  1. Go to group settings
  2. Find Profile Visibility
  3. Toggle Show Reviews on or off

When to Hide Reviews #

  • Starting out with very few reviews
  • Recovering from a negative review period
  • Prefer to share reviews privately

When to Show Reviews #

  • Have multiple positive reviews
  • Average rating is 4 stars or higher
