Messaging Your Dream Team on a Request in BookLive

When you submit a Dream Team request in BookLive, you’re not limited to one-way communication. Each request has a dedicated conversation thread where you can exchange messages with your assigned Dream Team assistant, share files, ask follow-up questions, and stay updated as work progresses — all without leaving BookLive.

Before You Begin #

  • Dream Team access is a paid add-on. Contact your BookLive account manager if you’d like to add it to your subscription.
  • You must have at least one existing Dream Team request to access its conversation thread. To submit a new request, see Using the Dream Team Feature in BookLive.

Step 1: Open a Request #

  1. Log in at https://booklive.com/login.
  2. From the main dashboard (Home), find the Dream Team Requests panel.
  3. Your requests are listed with their current status — Pending, In Progress, or Completed.
  4. If your assistant has replied since you last visited, you’ll see a blue N new badge (with a chat icon) on that request card.
  5. Click any request card to open its full detail page.

Step 2: Review the Request Page #

The per-request page gives you a complete picture of the task in one view:

  • Status timeline — A progress bar showing Submitted → In Progress → Completed. The current stage is highlighted, and completed stages are marked with a green check.
  • Header — Displays the request title, submitted date, assigned assistant’s name (if one has been assigned), and estimated completion date (when set by the team).
  • Your request — The original description you submitted, shown in full.
  • Conversation — The two-way message thread between you and the Dream Team.
  • Notes from your team — Any internal notes the team has added about the request (read-only).

Step 3: Read Messages from Your Assistant #

The Conversation section displays all messages in chronological order. Messages sent by your Dream Team assistant appear on the left side of the thread; your own messages appear on the right. Each message shows the sender’s name and the time it was sent.

BookLive automatically marks assistant replies as read when you open the request, clearing the unread badge on the request list.

If the assistant attached any files to their message, you’ll see download links listed below the message body. Click a file link to open or download it.

Step 4: Send a Message #

  1. Scroll to the Conversation card at the bottom of the request page.
  2. Click inside the text field and type your message.
  3. Press Enter or click the Send button to submit.

Your message will appear immediately on the right side of the thread. The Dream Team assistant receives a notification so they can respond promptly.

Step 5: Attach Files to a Message #

You can attach files to any message — useful for sharing reference images, documents, audio clips, or videos to guide the work.

  1. In the message composer, click the paperclip icon (Attach files) to the left of the text field.
  2. Select one or more files from your device. You can attach up to 10 files per message, with a maximum of 25 MB per file.
  3. Attached files appear as chips above the text field. Click the × on any chip to remove it before sending.
  4. Write an optional message in the text field, then click Send.

Supported File Types #

BookLive accepts the following formats for Dream Team message attachments:

  • Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC
  • Documents: PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, CSV, TXT, RTF, PPT, PPTX
  • Audio/Video: MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, MOV
  • Archives: ZIP

Files larger than 25 MB will be rejected with an error. Split large files or use a sharing link (Google Drive, Dropbox) in your message body instead.

Getting Notified of Replies #

When a Dream Team assistant replies to your request, BookLive sends you an email notification and an in-app notification so you know there’s something waiting. You can also check the request list on the Home dashboard — any request with new assistant messages will show the blue N new badge.

Tips & Notes #

  • Messages are a great place to clarify scope, ask questions, or send revised assets mid-task — use them freely.
  • The conversation thread is private between you and the Dream Team; it is not visible to your clients or musicians.
  • The request page refreshes automatically every 15 seconds so new replies appear without a manual page reload.
  • If you don’t have any Dream Team time allocated, you won’t be able to submit new paid requests, but you can still view and message on existing ones.
