Organizing Songs with Music Collections

Music Collections are folders that help you organize your song library. Use them to group songs by genre, event type, ensemble, or any other criteria that makes sense for your workflow.

What Are Music Collections? #

Music Collections are organizational folders within your song library. They provide:

• Organization – Group related songs together
• Filtering – Quickly find songs by category
• Performance integration – Limit song selection to specific collections

Common Collection Strategies #

By Genre #

• Classical
• Jazz Standards
• Pop/Rock
• Country
• R&B/Soul

By Event Type #

• Wedding Ceremony
• Cocktail Hour
• Reception
• Corporate Events
• Holiday Parties

By Ensemble #

• String Quartet Repertoire
• Jazz Trio Repertoire

Creating a Music Collection #

1. Navigate to your group’s Songs section
2. Find the Music Collections area
3. Click Create Collection
4. Enter a name for the collection
5. Save the collection

Adding Songs to Collections #

When creating or editing a song, you can assign it to a collection:

1. Open the song’s detail page
2. Find the Music Collection dropdown
3. Select the appropriate collection
4. Save your changes

Using Collections in Performances #

You can link music collections to performances to filter available songs:

1. Open a performance
2. Go to the timeline section
3. Select which collections to include
4. When adding songs, only songs from selected collections appear

This is useful when you want to limit song choices to a specific repertoire for an event.

Viewing Collection Contents #

To see all songs in a collection:

1. Go to your Songs section
2. Click on the collection name
3. View all songs organized within that collection

Best Practices #

• Be consistent – Develop a collection strategy and stick to it
• Don’t over-categorize – Too many collections can be confusing
• Use meaningful names – Make collection purposes clear
• Review periodically – Move songs as your repertoire evolves
