As a bandleader, you can set up a Stripe account for your group to collect payments for performances. This guide covers how to connect your group to Stripe.
Why Set Up Group Payments? #
A group Stripe account allows you to:
- Collect performance deposits and payments
- Process client payments through BookLive
- Manage finances for your band or ensemble
- Receive payouts to your business bank account
Starting the Setup #
To connect Stripe for your group:
- Go to your Group Settings
- Find the Payments or Stripe section
- Click Connect with Stripe
- You will be redirected to Stripe onboarding
Business Type Selection #
During onboarding, select the appropriate business type:
- Individual/Sole Proprietor – If you operate as a freelancer
- LLC – If your group is a registered LLC
- Corporation – If incorporated as a business
- Partnership – If you have formal business partners
Choose the type that matches your actual business structure.
Required Information #
Business Details #
- Legal business name
- DBA (Doing Business As) name if different
- Business address
- EIN (for LLCs and corporations)
- Industry type (entertainment/music)
Representative Information #
- Your legal name as the account representative
- Date of birth
- SSN or government ID
- Home address
Bank Account #
- Business bank account details
- Account and routing numbers
Completing Setup #
- Review all entered information
- Accept Stripe Connected Account Agreement
- Submit for verification
- Return to BookLive
Verification Process #
Business accounts may require additional verification:
- Identity verification for the representative
- Business documentation (articles of incorporation, EIN letter)
- Proof of address
Check your Stripe dashboard for any pending requirements.
After Connection #
Once connected:
- Your group can accept payments through BookLive
- Clients can pay deposits and balances online
- Payouts are sent to your connected bank account
- Access Stripe dashboard for reporting and management
Group vs Individual Accounts #
The group Stripe account is separate from individual BookLive Pay accounts. Group members can still have their own individual payment setup for tips and side work.
