Setting Up Your BookLive Performing Site

BookLive includes a built-in website builder called the Performing Sites Website Creator, which lets you get a free, professionally hosted WordPress website for your act. Rather than building from scratch, BookLive handles the hosting setup while you supply the content — your bio, services, photos, and branding. This article walks you through requesting your hosting and completing each setup step.

Before You Begin #

  • You’ll need a custom domain name (e.g., johnsmithviolin.com) before you can request hosting. You can purchase one from a registrar such as IONOS, GoDaddy, or Namecheap.
  • Have your act bio, social media links, and a general idea of the gig types you want to target ready before you start — you can always update them later.

Step 1: Open the Website Dashboard #

  1. Go to https://booklive.com/login and sign in.
  2. In the left sidebar, click your group name to open your group page.
  3. In the group navigation, click Website.
  4. Select the Dashboard tab. This is your starting point for the Performing Sites setup.

Step 2: Request Your Free WordPress Hosting #

  1. On the Website Dashboard, locate the domain name field.
  2. Type your domain name exactly as purchased (e.g., johnsmithviolin.com). Do not include https://.
  3. Click Request Free WordPress Website Hosting.

BookLive will process your request in the background. You’ll see a confirmation message on the Dashboard: “Website Hosting Request Initiated. You will receive an email from the BookLive team when your hosting is ready to login.”

Once your hosting is live, the BookLive team will send you an email with your WordPress login credentials. This typically takes 1–3 business days.

Step 3: Complete the Six Setup Steps #

While you wait for your hosting confirmation — or once it arrives — you can begin filling in your website content. The Dashboard shows six labeled steps:

Step 1 — Enter Act Bio #

Click Step 1: Enter Act Bio to open the Act Bio tab. Here you’ll write a bio that describes what makes your act unique and enter links to up to five social media profiles (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.). Click Save when done.

Step 2 — Enter Act Services #

Click Step 2: Enter Act Services to open the Website Services tab. Each service you add becomes a dedicated page on your website targeting a specific event type (e.g., Wedding Ceremonies, Corporate Events). Adding services improves your site’s SEO by targeting the exact searches your potential clients use.

  1. Click Add Service.
  2. Enter a Service Name (e.g., “Wedding Receptions”) and a Description explaining how your act fits that gig type.
  3. Click Save. Repeat for each event type you perform at.

Step 3 — Create Website Content #

Click Step 3: Create Website Content to open the Website Pages tab. This is where you build and manage the individual pages of your site — your home page, about page, contact page, and any service-specific pages. Refer to the other articles in the Website support library for detailed guidance on creating and editing pages.

Step 4 — Upload Website Photos #

Click Step 4: Upload Website Photos to open the Website Photos tab. Upload high-quality photos that represent your act — performance shots, headshots, and event photos all work well. These images are used throughout your website’s design.

Step 5 — Decide on Branding #

Click Step 5: Decide on Branding to open the Website Branding tab. Set your color palette and other visual preferences so the BookLive team can match your site’s look to your act’s identity.

Step 6 — Build the Site #

Click Step 6: Build the Site to review and submit everything for final build. Once you’ve completed the previous steps and received your WordPress credentials, this step signals to the BookLive team that your content is ready to be assembled into your live website.

Tips & Notes #

  • You can complete the setup steps in any order and return to update them at any time — just navigate back to the Website section in your group.
  • If you haven’t purchased a domain yet, the domain registrar IONOS is linked directly in the Dashboard.
  • After your WordPress site is live, you’ll manage its content directly through WordPress and Elementor. See the Website support library for Elementor tutorials.
  • If you need help at any point, click the Need Help? View the Support Library button on the Dashboard to access all website documentation.
