Understanding the HomeCalendar

Overview #

The HomeCalendar is the centerpiece of your Group Home Dashboard. It provides a visual overview of all your performances, tasks, and availability in one convenient location. This guide will help you understand how to read and interact with the calendar.

Calendar Views #

The HomeCalendar supports different views depending on your device:

Desktop View (Month View) #

On desktop, the calendar displays a full month view showing:

  • All days of the current month in a grid layout
  • Events displayed on their respective dates
  • Multiple events per day stacked vertically
  • Navigation controls at the top

Mobile View (List View) #

On mobile devices, the calendar uses a list view showing:

  • Upcoming events in chronological order
  • Event details at a glance
  • Easy scrolling through your schedule

Event Types and Colors #

Events are color-coded for quick identification:

Performances #

  • Green – Confirmed performance (both parties have signed)
  • Yellow – Pending performance (awaiting signatures or confirmation)
  • Red – Cancelled performance

Tasks #

  • Purple – Partnership tasks (cadence-based follow-ups)
  • Darker Purple – One-off partnership tasks
  • Orange – Client tasks (follow-up reminders)

Availability #

  • Gray – Blackout dates (days marked as unavailable)

Navigating the Calendar #

Changing Months #

  1. Click the left arrow to go to the previous month
  2. Click the right arrow to go to the next month
  3. Click Today to return to the current month

Quick Date Navigation #

  1. Click on the month title (e.g., “December 2025”)
  2. A date picker will open
  3. Select any year and month to jump directly to it

Interacting with Events #

Viewing Event Details #

  • Hover over an event to see a tooltip with details
  • Click on a performance to go to its detail page
  • Click on a task to go to the related partnership or client

Rescheduling Tasks #

You can drag and drop tasks to reschedule them:

  1. Click and hold on a partnership or client task
  2. Drag it to the new date
  3. Release to update the due date

Note: Performances cannot be rescheduled via drag-and-drop. Use the performance edit page instead.

Creating New Events #

Using the + Button #

  1. Click the + button in the calendar header
  2. Choose New Performance or Blackout Date
  3. Complete the form that appears

Clicking on a Date #

  1. Click on any empty area of a date
  2. A dialog will appear to create a blackout date
  3. Enter the reason and save

Filtering Events #

Use the Event Filters to customize what you see:

  1. Click the filter icon or Event Filters button
  2. Toggle options on/off:
    • Show Partnership Tasks – Display/hide purple partnership events
    • Show Client Tasks – Display/hide orange client tasks
    • Show [Group Name] Events Only – Filter to current group only
  3. Your preferences are saved automatically

Tips for Using the Calendar #

  • Color at a glance – Use colors to quickly assess your schedule health (more green = good!)
  • Plan ahead – Use the date picker to review months in advance
  • Drag tasks promptly – Reschedule overdue tasks to stay organized
  • Filter when needed – Hide task types when focusing on performances only
