BookLive’s Fill with AI feature lets you instantly populate a timeline event’s song list using AI. Instead of scrolling through your full song library to pick songs one by one, you can let BookLive’s AI analyze your catalog — including song tags, event names, and songs already assigned — and fill the event to its required song count in seconds.
Before You Begin #
- You must be a group leader or co-leader to edit the performance timeline.
- Your act’s song library must have songs added. The AI can only choose from songs your group has on file — it will not invent or suggest songs outside your catalog.
- Each timeline event must have a Songs Required count set greater than zero. Fill with AI fills up to that number of songs.
- For the best AI selections, make sure your songs have tags applied (genre, mood, decade, etc.). Tags help the AI match songs to the theme of each event.
Step 1: Open the Performance Timeline #
- Log in at https://booklive.com/login.
- From the left sidebar, click Performances and select the performance you want to build a timeline for.
- Click the Timeline tab inside the performance detail view.
You’ll see a list of timeline events (segments like Cocktail Hour, Ceremony, Reception, etc.), each showing how many songs have been assigned versus how many are required.
Step 2: Make Sure Your Events Have a Song Count #
Fill with AI works on a per-event basis. Before using it, confirm that the event you want to fill has a Songs Required number set.
- Click the edit (pencil) icon on the timeline event you want to configure.
- In the edit dialog, check the Number of songs field. Set it to the number of songs needed for that event (for example, 15 for a one-hour cocktail hour).
- Click Save.
Once a song count is set, the event shows a progress indicator — for example, 3/15 — so you can see at a glance how many songs still need to be added.
Step 3: Fill the Event with AI #
- In the timeline event’s action bar, click the ✨ Fill with AI button.
- BookLive will immediately analyze your song library and select songs to fill the event up to its required count. The button will be briefly disabled while the AI runs.
- When complete, a confirmation message appears at the bottom of the screen — for example, “Added 12 songs with AI!” — and the event’s song list updates automatically.
The AI considers several factors when choosing songs:
- Event name — If the event is named “Cocktail Hour” or “First Dance,” the AI tries to match songs to that mood and occasion.
- Song tags — Genre, mood, decade, and other tags you’ve applied to your songs help the AI make smarter choices.
- Existing songs — The AI avoids songs already assigned anywhere else in the performance, so you won’t see duplicates across events.
- Act scope — Only songs from your act’s own library are used. The AI never suggests outside music.
Tips & Notes #
- You can run Fill with AI multiple times. If the first run doesn’t fill the event completely (for example, your library doesn’t have enough songs), you can add more songs to your library and run it again — it will only fill the remaining slots.
- Tags make a big difference. If you have songs without tags, the AI will still work, but it won’t be able to factor in genre or mood. Adding tags to your songs improves results noticeably. See Managing Your Song Tags with the Tag Manager for details.
- You can edit after the fact. Fill with AI is a starting point. After it runs, you can remove any songs that don’t fit and manually add others. The AI result is fully editable.
- Events set to 0 songs are skipped. If an event has no song count set (or is set to 0), the Fill with AI button will not add anything — it’s designed for events that require a specific number of songs.
