Using the Prospecting Tool

The Prospecting tool helps you discover new venues and planners near your location. It’s the fastest way to find potential partners and add them to your Gig Vault.

Accessing Prospecting #

To open the Prospecting tool:

  1. Go to your Gig Vault or Partnerships
  2. Click Prospect or Find New Partners
  3. The prospecting interface will open

Setting Your Search Location #

By default, prospecting searches near your group’s address. You can change this:

  • Enter a different city or address
  • Adjust the search radius (miles)
  • The map will update to show your search area

Filtering Results #

Narrow your search with filters:

Partner Type #

  • Venues – Physical locations
  • Planners – Event coordinators and DMCs

Gig Type #

For venues, you can filter by:

  • Wedding venues
  • Corporate event spaces
  • Bars and restaurants
  • Hotels
  • Country clubs
  • Private event venues

For planners:

  • Wedding planners
  • Corporate event planners
  • DMCs (Destination Management Companies)

Viewing Search Results #

Results appear as a list showing:

  • Business name
  • Address
  • Distance from search location
  • Business type/category
  • Whether already in your Gig Vault

Adding Prospects to Your Gig Vault #

To add a prospect:

  1. Click on a result in the list
  2. Review the business details
  3. Click Add to Gig Vault
  4. The partnership is created with “Lead” status

Already in your vault? The listing will show an indicator so you don’t add duplicates.

Google Places Integration #

Prospecting uses Google Places to find businesses. This means:

  • Results include real businesses with verified addresses
  • Contact information may be included
  • Business hours and ratings may be available
  • Results are current and regularly updated

Tips for Effective Prospecting #

  • Start local – Begin with venues within 25 miles
  • Try different gig types – Don’t limit yourself to one category
  • Check regularly – New venues open frequently
  • Note details – Add notes when you add a prospect about why they caught your attention
  • Follow up quickly – New leads are more receptive to outreach

After Adding Prospects #

Once you’ve added prospects to your Gig Vault:

  • Assign them to a Sales Cadence for structured outreach
  • Add contact details if you have them
  • Research the venue and add notes
  • Begin your outreach process
