Using the Setlist Builder in BookLive

The Setlist Builder in BookLive lets you create and manage reusable song lists for your act. Build setlists once — then reference them across performances, share them with your musicians, and keep your repertoire organized all in one place.

Before You Begin #

  • You must have at least one act created in BookLive.
  • Your act’s song library should have songs added to it. Songs in your library are what you’ll draw from when building a setlist. (If you haven’t added songs yet, navigate to your act and look for the Songs section.)

Step 1: Navigate to Setlists #

  1. Log in at https://booklive.com/login.
  2. From the left sidebar or home screen, click on your act’s name to open it.
  3. In the act navigation, click Library, then select Setlists.

You’ll land on the Setlists page, which shows all existing setlists for your act along with a song count for each.

Step 2: Create a New Setlist #

  1. On the Setlists page, click the + button in the top-right corner of the card.
  2. A dialog will appear — enter a name for your setlist (e.g., 1 hr Pop Set or Wedding Cocktail Hour).
  3. Click Add to create it.

BookLive will create the setlist and take you directly into it so you can start adding songs.

Step 3: Add Songs to Your Setlist #

  1. Inside the setlist, click the + button in the top-right corner.
  2. A Select Songs dialog will open with a search/autocomplete field.
  3. Start typing a song name or artist. BookLive will suggest matching songs from your act’s library.
  4. Select the song you want to add.
  5. Click Save to add it to the setlist.
  6. Repeat for each additional song.

The setlist table shows each song’s Name and Artist. Songs are ordered by the position they were added.

Step 4: Remove a Song from a Setlist #

To remove a song, click the delete (trash) icon to the right of the song row. You’ll be asked to confirm before the song is removed.

Step 5: Rename or Delete a Setlist #

From the main Setlists page:

  • Click the edit (pencil) icon next to a setlist to rename it. Update the name in the dialog and click Save.
  • Click the delete (trash) icon to permanently delete a setlist. You’ll be asked to confirm.

Saving a Setlist from a Performance Timeline #

If you’ve built out a Song Timeline for a specific performance, you can save it directly as a reusable setlist:

  1. Open the performance and navigate to its Timeline.
  2. Click the Save Setlist button on the timeline.
  3. Enter a name for the setlist in the dialog that appears.
  4. Click Save.

The setlist will be added to your act’s Setlist library and can be reused for future performances.

Tips & Notes #

  • Setlists are stored at the act level — they’re available across all performances for that act.
  • Songs must already exist in your act’s song library before they can be added to a setlist. If a song isn’t showing up in the autocomplete, add it to your library first.
  • You can have as many setlists as you need — common examples include sets organized by genre, duration (30 min, 1 hr, 2 hr), or event type (cocktail hour, dinner, dance).
  • In your act’s Settings, you can configure a default setlist due date (how many days before a performance the setlist should be finalized) and enable setlist reminders for your team.
